After working exclusively with the body as a staged, idle image I was interested in capturing the kinetic reality of the human form, while also continuing the component of abstraction. Taking influence from Cubism and long-exposure photography, I created a series of prints showcasing the body’s ability to abstract through movement, contortion, overlap, and varied perspectives.

Generated in Photoshop and then translated into lithographs and etchings, these prints act in a continual dialog about the interconnectedness between digital and analog technologies. By combining and editing multiple photos in Photoshop and combining the separated layers as one printed surface, the body sets in contrast with itself and generates its own abstracted imagery influenced by the mechanisms and nuances of analog printing processes.
